This week brings the Summer Solstice, the official start to summer in the city (or the country). As temperatures heat up and the sun seems to become brighter and hotter, it will be important to find balance between rest and activity. Allow yourself some free time everyday for fun, laughter, relaxation and doing less.
I've been getting into aromatherapy lately and discovered that dabbing one drop of Sandalwood Essential Oil on your temples, eyebrow center, throat center (at the hollow of the throat), wrists, and belly button will charge your whole aura with a sweet fragrance that pacifies the tendency to overexert. Rose, jasmine, mint, chamomile, lavender or fennel can also be used. As I write this email, I have a tissue stuck in my circulating fan with drops of lavender and mint essential oils on it. My office smells wonderfully sweet and relaxing and I am feeling very peaceful and happy as I sit here inhaling the fragrant breeze.
I know many of you will be leaving for the summer, but wherever you are, I hope you will enjoy good chunks of time where you take a pause, look up at the big sky, breathe in deeply and fill yourself up with all that Universal space. Trust that doing less will help you feel stronger and more centered, even when events in the news are tragic, inconceivable and leave us feeling enraged. The aromatherapy helps too.
Lots and lots of Love to you!
